Staying aloof--in a wild way

I was an animal lover when I was a kid. Almost all the books I read between the ages of eight and ten had something to do with wild animals, be it wolves, bears, pigeons, etc.

I once read in one of those books that lions and tigers long remember the humans that took care of them when they were cubs while bears usually forget anyone who looked after them when they were little. Supposing that the description was a fact, I assume that bears generally have low IQs than big animals of the feline family.

The embedded video was probably shot on the North American Continent. At first I thought this was a fake, its uploader setting up his camera somewhere to stay afar from the scene. You know, it was not that hard to leave an unmanned camcorder to observe wildlife without endangering yourself.

A few minutes after I began watching this clip, I realized that I was wrong. You can see a man moving about beside the chair he placed on the riverbank. It is incredible that only one tiny of piece information changes our attitude towards something 180 degrees.

The bear itself doesn't seem to even care whether or not a man is standing nearby. Is it because the big one has never seen any humans before? Could be so. It just saunters onto the riverbank, sits down, and leaves without minding the camera. Talking about zero f*cks given.
